Cell counting sounds simple, but it isn't.

Cytely automatically segments nuclei or whole cells across the entire tissue section. Every cell is counted, and cellularity is reported.

How the assay runs

Segment nuclei from the nuclear stain (optionally segment whole cells from a membrane or cytoplasmic marker) → count objects → compute density per unit area.

What you provide

  • Ch1: DAPI, Hoechst, or hematoxylin (nuclear stain)
  • Optional Ch2: membrane or cytoplasmic marker for whole-cell segmentation

What you get

  • Total nuclei count
  • Total cell count (with a cell-boundary marker)
  • Cell or nuclear density (per unit area)

Ready to run

Nuclei-based cellularity in tissue sections, whole-cell segmentation with a membrane or cytoplasmic marker, FFPE and frozen histology, DAPI/Hoechst/hematoxylin nuclear stains.

Inquire for support

Live/dead viability scoring, dose-response cell counting in culture (see Cell Counting & Viability), sub-region or multi-region breakdown within a section, cell-type classification requiring specialized markers, 3D volumetric cellularity.
