Data preservation policy

Cytely is committed to supporting reproducible microscopy-based research. As part of this commitment, Cytely aims to keep published dataset records, associated analysis information, and publication links available over the long term.

Scope

This policy applies to Cytely datasets that have been linked from a publication, preprint, poster, or other public scientific output through a Cytely publication link.

Published Cytely records may include dataset metadata, analysis workflow information, gates, plots, extracted single-cell data, and linked cell images where applicable.

If Cytely can no longer host published data directly

If Cytely is no longer able to host published datasets directly, Cytely will make reasonable best efforts to preserve access to published dataset records.

This may include transferring, redirecting, or integrating published datasets and associated metadata into suitable third-party repositories, such as institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, Zenodo, or similar long-term research data repositories.

Where possible, Cytely will also aim to preserve the information needed to interpret the analysis, including relevant workflow descriptions, dataset metadata, and analysis configuration information.

Link continuity

Where technically and practically possible, Cytely will aim to preserve existing Cytely publication links or redirect them to the appropriate long-term repository location.

Limitations

This policy is a best-effort preservation policy. It should not be interpreted as an unconditional guarantee that Cytely will host all published data indefinitely on Cytely-controlled infrastructure.
